ACollab- Educational Application

ACollab is an open-sourced, web-based collaborative work environment designed by ATutor. It is a great tool for teaching groups, or groups of students. It will work espescially well for people who will be collaborating or working from a distance. ACollab has many different features. Some of which include

• Document Library: a space where members can submit documents and other members can download them for viewing.
• Events Calendar: Members can post events, deadlines, etc. to the calendar.
• Private Mailbox: Members can communicate with each other privately.
• Multilingual Interface: Allows people to communicate using language packs or language can be modified by system administrators.

ACollab can be used many ways in education. It can be used for creating groups where distance is a barrier yet sharing research is key. It can also be used to make working on groups projects easier for students in the same school when scheduling is a problem. Online educators can also use it for group learning and collaborating. Students can share, collaborate, or write joint papers with ease.

Shop savvy is a cell phone application that has been designed for the G1 phone by T-Mobil. You download it for free from the android marketplace online. Once downloaded to your phone it will scan any barcode and then give you back lots of different useful information. It will let you know things such as, advertised cost at other retailer online, local locations at which you can find the product, and read reviews from other purchasers.


Since this application is said to scan any barcode you can find it can be extremely useful in everyday life. It will make smart shopping quicker and simpler. You can compare prices on items you're wishing to purchase without having to spend time on many different websites, or going from store to store. You can do all this without a computer.
